Our Take
Woodland Community Unit School District #5 is a rural K-12 district based at 5800 East 3000 North Road, east of Streator, and its school is home to the Woodland Warriors, playing in the “Warrior Dome.” With elementary, junior high and high school students under one district, it offers small class sizes and a close-knit setting that many families value. The website provides teacher pages, supply lists, a monthly newsletter, student handbooks and a drug test policy for activities, as well as resources like Lexia Core 5, Accelerated Reader, an ACT prep course and Gale research databases. Families moving to the countryside around Streator should check whether their address falls within the district boundaries and contact the office for enrollment and bus information. Its board meetings are public.
