Our Take
Centennial Elementary School is the middle stop in Streator Elementary District 44’s three-school system, serving grades two through four. Concentrating those three grades in one building is a smart setup: the school can focus squarely on the years when kids build the reading and math foundations they will rely on for the rest of their education. It sits on Oakley Avenue, practically next door to the Streator Family YMCA, which is handy for families who use the Y for after-school activities. Students arrive from Kimes Elementary after first grade and move on to Northlawn Junior High for fifth grade. The school’s main number is 815-672-2747. The district website is the best place for calendars, staff contacts and enrollment information. For parents of young elementary students in Streator, Centennial is where your child will spend some of the most formative years of school.
