Our Take
Streator Township High School is the city’s public high school, run by Streator Township High School District 40 and home of the Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs. It sits on West Lincoln Avenue, near Twister Hill Park and the Vermilion River Greenway Trail trailhead, and it is an IHSA member school competing in athletics across the region. The school’s reach goes beyond its own campus: through a partnership with the city, the Streator Bulldogs soccer team plays at the James Street Recreation Area. For families moving to town, the Illinois Report Card website offers a detailed, independent snapshot of enrollment, academics and staffing, which is the best place to dig into performance data. The main office number is 815-672-0545, and the school’s own website covers calendars, athletics and announcements. As the town’s only public high school, it is a true community hub on Friday nights and throughout the year.
