Weber House & Garden
1503 Baker Street, Streator, IL 61364
Our Take
Weber House & Garden is the kind of attraction you do not expect to find in a small town, and that is exactly why it is worth seeking out. The house is a 1938 Gordon-Van Tine storybook kit home, a Tudor-style cottage, surrounded by a carefully kept English garden. Guided tours walk you through uniquely decorated rooms, each reflecting a different period of design, and then out into the manicured grounds. Tours run daily at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. from April through October, and groups under 15 do not need a reservation; just press the call box at the front gate and a guide will meet you. Outside those times, call or text ahead to arrange a visit. Plan on about an hour and a half to two hours. The property also hosts weddings and photo sessions through a separate team. For garden lovers and architecture buffs, it is a charming, memorable stop.
