Anderson Fields Golf Course
1901 N. Bloomington Street, Streator, IL 61364
Our Take
Anderson Fields Golf Course is a nine-hole public course with a layout largely unchanged since 1925, which gives it an old-school charm that newer courses cannot fake. A modern clubhouse added in 2008 keeps it comfortable without erasing that history. Best of all, there are no tee times required, so you can simply show up and play, an easygoing approach that suits beginners, casual golfers and anyone squeezing in a quick round. The course is open March through November, weather permitting. It also has an unusual historical bonus: it is home to the Pluto Statue and Vin Fiz historical markers, historical markers that add a little extra to a round. Nine holes keeps a round short and affordable in time. For a relaxed game with a side of local history, Anderson Fields is a genuine hometown gem.
