Streator City Park
200 block of N. Park Street, Streator, IL 61364
Our Take
City Park is Streator’s front lawn. The primary downtown park, it is where the community gathers for events, memorials and summer evenings, and it packs a lot into a central block: a performance space, picnic tables and shelters, a playground, public art, restrooms and shade trees. The splash pad is the standout for families; it is the only one listed among the city’s parks, which makes it a summer magnet for kids. City Park is also the starting point for the Streator Historical Walking Tour, a self-guided route through more than 20 historic downtown stops with audio guides and QR maps, so it doubles as the gateway to the town’s history. The public library sits right across the street, and churches and shops ring the surrounding blocks. If you only have an hour in Streator, start here. To reserve the park for an event, the city requires a Park Use Permit.
