Streator Post Office

Our Take

The Streator Post Office on East Hickory Street is just off downtown, and USPS’s own locator shows it covering a lot more than stamps. The retail windows are open 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, but the lobby opens at 5:30 a.m. and stays open until 5:30 p.m. on weekdays (4 p.m. on Saturday), so P.O. box holders and self-service customers have plenty of room around their workday. Passports are a major plus: the office takes passport appointments and passport photos weekdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturdays until 1 p.m., with a short walk-in window from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday through Wednesday. Last mail collection is 5 p.m. on weekdays and 3:45 p.m. on Saturday. Hours can change, so check the USPS locator before a passport visit or a deadline mailing.
