Rock Island Inn & Suites, at the address county tourism still lists as an AmericInn by Wyndham, is the most amenity-rich hotel in Streator. It has a free hot breakfast, an indoor heated pool open 7 AM to 9 PM, a coin laundry, a business center with printing and fax, a 24-hour front desk and free parking with room for trailers. It’s pet-friendly within limits, allowing up to two pets of 30 pounds or less for a fee, and service animals stay free. Room types run from standard kings and double queens to king and double studio suites, which gives families some breathing room. The location along the Vermilion River near Routes 23 and 18 puts it close to the north-side shopping strip and a short drive from downtown. The honest caveat is the public rating, a middling 3.4 from about 275 reviews. Read recent reviews before booking.
