Our Take
Relax Inn is a basic motel on Route 23 listed by the LaSalle County tourism bureau. Its description is modest and honest: flat-screen TVs, cable and heating and air conditioning, with a microwave and refrigerator available on request rather than in every room. Tourism materials position it as convenient to Streator City Park, the Streatorland Historical Museum and, within about 23 miles, Starved Rock State Park, Skydive Chicago and Buffalo Rock State Park. That’s a fair summary of why anyone stays in Streator. What we couldn’t find is equally important. There’s no verified phone number or website in our sources, and the city’s own tourism page lists only the Rock Island and Starved Rock Motor Inn as hotels. Treat this as a budget fallback, and confirm it’s operating and accepting reservations through a booking site before counting on it for a night.
