Our Take
First Assembly of God on South Church Street (yes, Church Street) gives Sunday morning a three-part shape: Sunday School at 9 a.m., a Coffee Connection at 10, and ‘Worship and the Word’ at 10:30. That service name tells you plainly what to expect, an emphasis on both music and preaching, which is typical of the Pentecostal Assemblies of God tradition. The built-in coffee time before worship is a nice touch for newcomers who want a low-pressure way to say hello. Services are live-streamed on Facebook, so you can watch first if you are unsure about the style. The church lists an email address, [email protected], and a phone number rather than a full website, so those are the best ways to confirm times or ask questions. For anyone looking for expressive, contemporary-leaning worship on Streator’s south side, this is a natural first stop.
