Our Take
Erven Avenue Baptist Church sticks with a time-tested Baptist Sunday: Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. and worship at 10:45. That traditional format, with dedicated classes before the main service, tends to appeal to families who want age-appropriate teaching for kids and adults alike, and it is a big part of why Sunday School churches remain popular in towns like Streator. The address, number 1 Erven Avenue, is about as easy to remember as church addresses get. The congregation keeps a website at ervenavenue.com, which is the best place to check for schedule changes, ministries and events beyond Sunday morning. If you grew up in a Baptist church and are looking for something familiar, or you simply want a predictable, well-structured Sunday routine, this one deserves a look. A quick call or website check before your first visit is always a good idea.
