West Side Cafe is a fairly new restaurant at 101 Armory Court, in Westgate Plaza on Streator’s west side, and its Facebook page has quickly grown to more than 2,200 followers with hundreds talking about it, a strong start for a small cafe. Neighborhood cafes like this typically focus on breakfast and lunch: eggs, omelets, pancakes, sandwiches, burgers, soups and daily specials, with coffee flowing all morning. The Westgate Plaza location offers easy parking and serves the west side neighborhoods that are a little farther from downtown. Because the restaurant’s online presence is on Facebook, that’s where to check the menu, daily specials and current hours. Early afternoon closing is common for cafes, so plan accordingly.
