Our Take
Love it or not, the Walmart Supercenter on North Bloomington is the gravitational center of Streator shopping. It combines a full grocery store and bakery with clothing, electronics, toys, sporting goods, home goods and a garden center, and it is open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day, longer than almost anything else in town. That makes it the fallback when the downtown shops are closed or you need ten unrelated things at once. A Boost Mobile counter inside the electronics area also handles prepaid phones and plans. Do not expect personal service, and weekend checkout lines can test your patience; online order pickup is the smarter way to use it. Note that the Chamber lists the phone as (815) 672-3072 while Walmart-linked listings show 672-3071.
