Our Take
Metcalf-Martin is one of the plumbing and heating names that turns up in essentially every Streator directory, old and new, which says something about its staying power. Its listings stretch beyond basic plumbing repair to bathroom and kitchen remodeling, boiler work, industrial equipment and even pool supplies. That breadth is the reason to call: a remodel that touches plumbing, heating and fixtures can be handled by one contractor instead of three. The shop on South Vermillion keeps standard weekday hours, 8 to 5, and is closed weekends. Public reviews average 4.2 across about two dozen ratings, solid rather than spectacular. Boilers are worth calling out specifically. Streator has a lot of older homes with hydronic heat, and not every plumber wants that work. If you have an old boiler that needs attention, a shop that lists boilers as a specialty is the place to start.
