Our Take
Gavin’s Lawn Care & Landscaping is based on North Otter Creek and has built an impressive following of more than 2,100 people on Facebook, which for a local lawn service is a strong sign of steady word of mouth. Typical work for an outfit like this includes weekly mowing, trimming and edging, spring and fall cleanups, mulching, bush trimming and small landscape installs, with snow removal sometimes offered in winter. Busy families, older homeowners and landlords with several properties are the obvious customers. Facebook is where to look for before-and-after photos and to send a message requesting a quote. Ask about seasonal contracts versus per-visit pricing, what happens on rainy weeks and whether leaf removal is included in fall. Booking early in spring is smart, since good lawn crews fill their routes fast.
