Crowned With Ink is a locally owned tattoo studio at 113 East Main, directly across from Walgreens, and its artists list an impressively wide range of styles: custom designs, black-and-gray realism, traditional, fine line, script, cover-ups and memorial pieces. Memorial work and cover-ups take real skill and sensitivity, so it’s encouraging to see them named outright. The shop has built a following of nearly 1,900 on Facebook, which is the best place to review portfolios before booking a consultation. Posted hours are Monday and Thursday through Sunday, 11:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., with Tuesday and Wednesday reserved for appointments only. Street parking is easy along Main Street. As with any studio, ask about deposits, aftercare and the artist best suited to the style you want, and bring reference images to your consultation.
