SOCU – Owens Branch
912 N Shabbona St, Streator, IL 61364
Our Take
SOCU’s Owens branch on North Shabbona Street is the credit union’s second Streator location, and it differs from Northpoint in one important way: the lobby is weekdays only, 9 to 5. The drive-thru picks up the slack, opening at 7:30 AM Monday through Thursday until 5, staying until 6 on Friday, and open Saturday mornings from 8 to noon. If you want to walk inside on a Saturday, go to Northpoint instead. Otherwise, Owens is the more convenient choice for members living nearer Shabbona Street. Calls to either branch go through SOCU’s virtual communications center, so ask specifically for Owens if you want branch staff. SOCU’s online and video-chat tools handle many routine needs without a visit, and loan applications can be submitted online. Hours listed here are lobby hours; drive-thru hours are longer.
