Our Take
VanDuzer Jewelers has been a family-owned business since 1941, with stores in Streator, Ottawa and Morris, and the Main Street location is the town’s established fine-jewelry counter. The specialty is diamond engagement rings and colored-stone jewelry, but the real value of a multigenerational local jeweler shows up after the sale: sizing, repairs, cleaning, appraisals and the confidence that the people who sold you the ring will still be there to fix a prong in twenty years. With three Illinois Valley stores, they can also tap a wider inventory than a single shop. Streator hours are Monday through Friday 9 to 5 and Saturday 9 to 3, closed Sunday. Book custom work early in the holiday season. The store is at 310 East Main, in the middle of the downtown shopping block, across from Don’s Furniture.
