Grant Street Grocery is a corner grocery and deli in the older residential heart of Streator, listed in the city’s own grocery guide. Corner stores like this are increasingly rare in Midwestern towns, which makes the ones that survive worth knowing about: they are the place for sliced lunch meat, a loaf of bread and a quick conversation, without a parking lot the size of a football field. The deli angle is the reason to seek it out rather than simply grabbing what you need at a gas station.
