Our Take
Don’s Furniture is a long-running furniture showroom at 311 East Main, directly across from VanDuzer and a few doors from Refurbished Treasures, which makes this block a natural furniture-shopping stretch. A local showroom offers what online retailers cannot: you can sit on the sofa, test the recliner and talk through delivery with someone who knows Streator’s stairways and narrow doorways. Independent dealers are also usually more flexible on special orders and fabric choices. The company has its own website, and a MapQuest listing gives hours of Monday through Saturday 9 to 5, closed Sunday. The Chamber lists only the seven-digit number 673-3700; we added the local 815 area code. Ask about delivery windows and whether pieces on the floor can be ordered in other fabrics or finishes.
